Day 1 : |
Cairo |
|
|
Upon arrival in
Cairo, the guest will meet the Select Egypt Travel
representative who will be your best friend for the
coming five days. We only deal with local highly
educated and experienced company representatives who
have fluent English and wonderful communication skills,
After the "meet and greet", the guest will be
transferred to his hotel, his home away from home,
using the best comfortable wheelchair accessible
air-conditioned minivans
The guest will check in the hotel in a few minutes to
enable him/her to rest and refresh for an amazing tour
of Cairo in the next day.

The guest will
enjoy a delicious breakfast to energize his power for
his tour in Cairo
After breakfast, you will meet up with your highly
educated long experienced Egyptologist who will escort
you for the rest of the day.
Your first visit of the day will be to the Pyramids of
Giza, the most popular monument in the whole world,
built by the pharaohs from the period starting from 2590
BC to 2480 BC. You will have the chance to explore the
wonders of the Great Pyramid, the largest Pyramid ever
constructed in Egypt which was built by King Cheops in
2589 BC, and it is the only remaining item in the list
of the Greek Old Seven wonders of the world. You will
discover the beauty of the lion's body and the human
headed sphinx, one of the largest monolith statues in
history of mankind.
Your tour will be accompanied, all the time, with
wonderful historical interpretation explaining the
reasons behind building such massive structure.
Your next stop will be at the Egyptian Museum of
Antiquities hosting the largest collection of Pharonic
displays in the whole world including the startling
treasures of King Tut Ankh Amun and the Royal mummies'
hall. This is besides many other exhibitions form
different Pharonic periods. Your tour of the Museum will
be accompanied by the perfect illustration of different
stages of the Egyptian history
Your last visit of the day will be to Khan El Khalili,
the largest and most famous touristic market in the
world. This bazar, built in 1382 during the Mamluk
reign, is the best place to shop for Egyptian gifs and
souvenirs to take home from Cairo.

Day 3 : |
Cairo -Bahariya Oasis |
|
|
After having
the tasty breakfast in the hotel, it will be time to
check out the hotel
The guest will take the comfortable private
air-conditioned minivan to the Bahariya Oasis, 365
kilometers to the South West of Cairo. Check in the
hotel in the Bahariya Oasis
In the afternoon, escorted by your highly educated well
experienced travel guide, you will start your visits
using the comfy 4X4 jeep.
Your first visit of the day will be to the Temple of Ain
el-Muftella, discovered in 1938-1939 by Ahmed Fakhry,
one of the most famous Egyptian archeologists. This
temple, that now only consists of four chapels, was
constructed during the reign of Ahmose II (570 – 526 BC)
who belonged to the 26th dynasty. Many decorations in
the chapels are still well preserved until today.
Your next stop will be at Ain Bishmu, one of the most
famous water springs located near the Bahariya Oasis
dating back to the Romans period
The next visit will be to the Tomb of Bannantiu,
discovered by Ahmed Fakhry in 1938, which is a richly
decorated tomb of a man who served both as a priest and
a prophet during the 26th dynasty. This tomb is
carefully painted and colored with scenes of the
afterlife with the Sun God Re starting his journey.
Your next visit will be to the Temple of Alexander the
Great built by the great Macedonian king and army
leaders during his famous visit to Siwa in 331 BC. The
ruins of this temple, discovered by Ahmed Fakhry, the
most famous archeologist who excavated monuments in the
Western Desert, contains two sandstones chapels with
bas reliefs displaying Alexander presenting offers to
the gods Horus and Amun Re
Your next stop of this interesting day exploring the
wonders of the western desert will be at the Bahariya
Museum which was established in 2005 ad it displays the
local customs and traditions being practiced in the
region. - The last visit of the day will be to
Gebel al Ingleez, or the English Mountain which the
British used as a lookout point during the World War II.
The guest will have the chance to visit some old English
houses.

Day 4 : |
Bahariya

After the energizer
breakfast, the guest will start his day with an amazing
Camel tour to visit the pyramid mountain, which is a
naturally formed pyramid and considered to be one of the
wonders of the Western Desert Afterwards, we ride
in the comfortable air-conditioned 4X4 jeep to start our
tours of the day
Our next visit of the day will be to the Black Desert,
which was named that way because of the color of the
rocks and mountains located there. These rocks have
gained their colors from black quartz that are present
inside numerous rocks
Afterwards, we proceed to the Sand Dunes area where we
explore the wonders of one of the most fascinating areas
in the Western Desert.
We then proceed with our trip to reach the Heiz Oasis,
one of the interesting oases of the Egyptian Western
desert. It hosts the four major water springs located in
the area and the oasis has played a major role in the
history of the Christian religion in Egypt. We will have
lunch in the Oasis and rest for a little to refresh in
order to continue our exciting tour of the wonders of
the Western Desert of Egypt
We then we continue our trip to the Farafra Oasis, and
on our way we visit the crystal mountain, one of the
most famous attractions of the white desert. This
Egyptian Western desert wonder consists of large quartz
naturally formed crystals inside many rocks and stones
creating a startling magical scene.
We proceed afterwards to reach the Aqabat, or the
difficult passage, which is an interesting section of
the white desert hosting the famous twin peaks, the
ideal landmark for all the travelers in the white
desert.
Our last stop of the day is the most interesting as we
visit the internationally famous White Desert, the most
important attraction in the Western Desert of Egypt.
Covering a surface area of around three thousand
kilometers. It consists of bizarre chalk white rock
formations that were once the surface of a shallow sea
that covered this area in prehistoric times. The rocks
create all sorts of shapes like mushrooms, animals, and
strange looking sculptures. All this area has become a
natural protected area during the last few years.

At the end of the day, we set up our camp in the desert
to enjoy the magical atmosphere of the region, watch the
stars, have an amazing barbeque party, and spend the
night in our comfortable camp

Day 5 : |
The White Desert |

After breakfast, we
continue our journey discovering the wonders of the
Western Desert to reach the Ain Khadra, one of the most
famous natural springs in the area that was used since
Roman times, where we have our lunch and rest for a
little to continue with our trip
Afterwards we proceed to have a small adventure
exploring one of the caves of the White Desert, to have
some fun and discover the wonders of these weirdly
formed white rocks. We will then move to explore the
marvelous Santa Tree, which is one of the wonders of the
Egyptian Western Desert.
The next step will be having lunch in Wadi Minamar, one
of the interesting locations in the Western Desert

At the end of the day, we set up our tents in a
marvelous location to watch the stars while chitchatting
and enjoying the best barbeque ever.

White
Desert - Farafra Oasis - Dakhla

After having the
breakfast we prepare in our camp, it will be the time to
go on with our fabulous tour of the Western Desert
Our first stop of the day will be at the Farafra Oasis,
located 180 kilometers to the South of Bahariya where we
have an amazing chance to swim in one of the natural
water springs located in the city.
Our next visit will be to Badr Museum, which is a
splendid small museum hosting the work of Badr Abdel
Moghny, a self taught local artist, illustrating the art
and the culture of the Farafra Oasis
Afterwards we drive to the Dakhla Oasis, the capital of
the Egyptian oases during the Pharaonic times which is
now famous for its many historical sites, natural
scenery, and handmade products. We visit the old City of
Dakhla with all its re while listening to a wonderful
illustration of the history of this popular oasis.
Our next visit will be to the Muzzawaqa Necropolis.
Meaning the well decorated tombs in Arabic, this
Necropolis which was discovered in 1908 contains more
than 300 rock hewn tombs with two of them, which are the
most popular and decorated, belonging to the 1st and 2nd
centuries AD.
Our last stop of the day will be to the visit the temple
of Deir Al Hagar or the monastery of the stone in the
Arabic language. This temple which was constructed
during the Roman period and in particular during the
reign of Nero (54- 68 AD) is dedicated to the Theban
triad; Amun, Mut, and Khonsu and it is considered one of
the finest examples of the architecture of the period.

Dakhla Oasis - Kharga Oasis | |

After having
breakfast in the hotel, we go on with our tour
We reach Al Kharga Oasis. Inhabited since prehistoric times, the Kharga
Oasis is the most populated town in the Western Desert.
We check in our hotel in the Kharga Oasis
We start our visits of the day exploring Bagawat
Cemetery, or the cemetery of the domes in the Arabic
language. This necropolis is one of the most important
and most ancient Christian cemeteries in the whole
world. It includes 263 tombs dating back to the period
from the 3rd to the 6th century AD.
Our next stop will be at the temple of Nadura, built
during the Roman era, most probably for the worship of
the spouse of Amun. The ruins of the temple contain
marvelous preserved wall paintings -
The next visit will be to the Kharga Museum, hosting a
number of exhibits that were found in the area dating
back from prehistoric times to the Coptic period

Our last visit of the day will be to the Temple of
Hibis. It is a marvelous temple dedicated to the worship
of Amun Ra of Hibis and it is considered to be the
largest temple in all the oases. The construction of the
temple was started by Psammetichus II (595- 589 BC) who
ruled during the reign of the 26th dynasty and the
building work was completed by the Persian king Darius I
(521 – 486 BC) and was enlarged during the periods of
Nectanebo I and Ptolemy II.
