Discover Cairo

Cairo is the capital of Egypt and the most important city in the land of the Nile. Greater Cairo, being the largest city in Africa, hosts more than 25% of the whole population of Egypt with around 20 million inhabitants. The city was very first established by Al Mui'z Le Din Allah, the famous Fatimid ruler, in 969 AD. Cairo is located on the River Nile around 200 kilometers to the South of the Mediterranean Sea. The city is famous for hosting the richest mixture of monuments consisting of many Pharonic, Christian, and Islamic monuments dating from ancient times and until today.
