adventurous trip in Egypt and prefer to spend a longer
vacation and explore many sites and cities in the land
of the Pharaohs
The trip consists of spending two
nights at leisure in Cairo to explore the Egyptian
capital in your own style. Afterwards, the guest will
spend three nights in Siwa to visit all the important
attractions located there.
The next stage of the trip
will include spending one night in the Dakhla and one
night in the Kharga Oases to view the magic of the
Western Desert of Egypt.
The guest will also have the
chance to spend four nights camping in the Western
Desert of Egypt to enjoy the magic and wonders of living
in the desert and visiting the White and the Black
desert Afterwards, we will spend one night in Abu
Simble with the option of visiting the amazing Ramses II
temple and then spend one night in Aswan to explore the
attractions of the city.
Siwa, the most distant and
mysterious oasis among all the oases in the Western
Desert, is one of the most interesting destinations in

that still holds to its old tribal culture, customs, and

Arrival in Cairo
with the rest of the day free at leisure

Travel to Siwa,

Day 1 :
Cairo
Arrival
Upon
arrival in Cairo, the guest will meet the Select Egypt
Travel representative who will be your best friend for
the coming five days.

transferred to his hotel, his home away from home,

Day 2 :
Cairo -
Siwa
After
having the most marvelous breakfast in the hotel, we
will be ready to check out and start our adventure
heading towards Siwa.
We take our comfortable
private air-conditioned minibus to head towards Siwa,
550 kilometers to the North West of Cairo.
We reach Siwa in the evening Check in our hotel in
Siwa
We start our tour with the mountain of the
dead, or Gabal Mawta as the locals call it in Arabic,
where many rock cut tombs are located dating from the
26th Pharaonic dynasty to the Greco Roman era.
There are
many interesting tombs to view there including the tomb
of Si-Amun, dating back to the 3rd century BC and the
tomb of Mesu-Isis belonging to a 26th dynasty priest.
Our next visit will be to the House of Siwa
Museum, hosting many displays that were found in Siwa
like jewelry, silver items, traditional dresses, and
musical instruments.
Our next visit will be to
the ancient town of Shali, which was founded during the
13th century and was probably ruined during the 20th
century because of the harsh rainfalls.
The houses in
the town were made out of "Khershef", a local mixture of
clay, salt, and many other materials
The next
stop of the day will be at the temple of the Oracle of
Amun, the most famous and important monument of Siwa.
This temple was the home of one of the most famous
oracles in ancient world. Alexander the Great has
visited this temple in 331 BC to gain confirmation to be
the King of Egypt
Our next stop of the day
will be to the Cleopatra Bath, the most popular natural
water spring in Siwa, where we will enjoy swimming in
this marvelous natural bath.
There is no connection
between Queen Cleopatra and this water spring and there
are no known reasons behind calling it after the famous
Egyptian Queen.
Our last visit of the day will
be to the Gebel Dakrour, one of the worldwide famous
destinations for healing Rheumatism by putting the whole
body under the hot sand of this mountain. This
destination is famous since the Ptolemies and the Greco
Roman eras

Day 3 :
Siwa
Oasis
After the
best breakfast in the hotel, the guest will be ready to
go on with his visits in Siwa using our comfortable 4X4
jeep.
The first stop of the day will be at Bir
Wahed, one of the most popular touristic attractions
located 15 kilometers to the Southwest. This water
spring is located in the middle of the sand dunes and
the best place to bath in mineral water
We
will then continue our trip in the magical desert around
Siwa to explore the ancient fossils, located around
Siwa. There are fossils that date back to different
periods of ancient times
We will choose a high
point to set up our camp, enjoy the marvelous sunset
scene, overnight in the camp
Day 4 :
Siwa
Oasis
After
having the breakfast we prepare in the camp, its time to
go on with our trip exploring Siwa
We take the
Jeep and continue to reach Abu Shrouf, which is a small
village located near Siwa and it contains the ruins of a
Roman temple with many items left for visitors to view,
recently discovered Roman tombs, and an ancient Roman
olive oil factory.
The best source of fresh underground
water is also located inside the village
We
continue our trip to explore the Coraishet natural
spring, and Ain Safi, another amazing natural water
spring located just two kilometers to the Southeast of
Siwa and surrounded with many palm trees and greenery.

Day 5 :
Siwa Oasis -
Sitra Oases
We enjoy
our delicious breakfast in the hotel, we check out to
start our journey heading towards Bahariya -
We
pass by the Bahrein, Nawemisa and Sitra Oases before
reaching the fascinating sand dunes of the Great Sand
Sea and exploring the nature of the area
We
reach Sitra Oasis, A small- uninhabited oasis making it
magical to relax and enjoy the atmosphere ,We
will prepare our camp, enjoy the nature of the area
Dinner and overnight in the camp.
Day 6 :
Sitra
Oases - Ain Dala
After we
have the tasty breakfast in the camp, we take off with
our 4X4 jeep going towards Ain Dala
We arrive
at Ain Dalla, which is a nice natural water spring
surrounded with palm trees and greenery.
We set
up our camp again to spend the night in the desert
relaxing and enjoying the moment -
Dinner and
overnight in the camp
Day 7 :
Ain Dala
- White Desert
After the
energizer breakfast, the guest will start his day with
an amazing tour to visit the wonders of the Western
Desert
Afterwards, we ride in the comfortable
air-conditioned 4X4 jeep to start our tours of the day
-
Our next visit of the day will be to the Black Desert,
which was named that way because of the color of the
rocks and mountains located there. These rocks have
gained their colors from black quartz that are present
inside numerous rocks
We then we continue our
trip to the Farafra Oasis, and on our way we visit the
crystal mountain, one of the most famous attractions of
the white desert.
This Egyptian Western desert wonder
consists of large quartz naturally formed crystals
inside many rocks and stones creating a startling
magical scene
Our last stop of the day is the
most interesting as we visit the internationally famous
White Desert, the most important attraction in the
Western Desert of Egypt.
Covering a surface area of
around three thousand kilometers. It consists of bizarre
chalk white rock formations that were once the surface
of a shallow sea that covered this area in prehistoric
times.
The rocks create all sorts of shapes like
mushrooms, animals, and strange looking sculptures. All
this area has become a natural protected area during the
last few years.
At the end of the day, we set
up our camp in the desert to enjoy the magical
atmosphere of the region, watch the stars, have an
amazing barbeque party, and spend the night in our
comfortable camp.
Day 8 :
White Desert -
Farafra - Dakhla oasis
After
having the breakfast we prepare in our camp, it will be
the time to go on with our fabulous tour of the Western
Desert
Our first stop of the day will be at the
Farafra Oasis, located 180 kilometers to the South of
Bahariya where we have an amazing chance to swim in one
of the natural water springs located in the city.
Our next visit will be to Badr Museum, which
is a splendid small museum hosting the work of Badr
Abdel Moghny, a self taught local artist, illustrating
the art and the culture of the Farafra Oasis
Afterwards we drive to the Dakhla Oasis, the capital of
the Egyptian oases during the Pharaonic times which is
now famous for its many historical sites, natural
scenery, and handmade products. We visit the old City of
Dakhla with all its re while listening to a wonderful
illustration of the history of this popular oasis.
Our next visit will be to Al Qasr, which is an
ancient Islamic village with houses and mosques all
around it this village was inhabited more than 500 years
ago.
Our next visit will be to the Mozzwaqa
necropolis, discovered in 1908 and hosting many rock cut
tombs with the interesting tombs dating back to the 1st
and 2nd century AD which are colorfully decorated and
perfectly preserved
Our next stop of the day
will be to the visit the temple of Deir Al Hagar or the
monastery of the stone in the Arabic language.
This
temple which was constructed during the Roman period and
in particular during the reign of Nero (54- 68 AD) is
dedicated to the Theban triad; Amun, Mut, and Khonsu and
it is considered one of the finest examples of the
architecture of the period.

Day 9 :
Dakhla oasis -
Kharga Oasis
After having
breakfast in the hotel, we go on with our tour
We reach Al Kharga Oasis. Inhabited since
prehistoric times, the Kharga Oasis is the most
populated town in the Western Desert.
We check
in our hotel in the Kharga Oasis -
Our next stop
will be at the temple of Nadura, built during the Roman
era, most probably for the worship of the spouse of
Amun. The ruins of the temple contain marvelous
preserved wall paintings
The next visit will be
to the Kharga Museum, hosting a number of exhibits that
were found in the area dating back from prehistoric
times to the Coptic period
Our next visit will
be to the fascinating Bagawat Cemetery, the largest
historical Christian cemetery in the whole world.
This
site hosts around 235 tombs which are beautifully
decorated with colorful ornaments and domes -
Our
last visit of the day will be to the Temple of Hibis.
It
is a marvelous temple dedicated to the worship of Amun
Ra of Hibis and it is considered to be the largest
temple in all the oases.
The construction of the temple was started by
Psammetichus II (595- 589 BC) who ruled during the reign
of the 26th dynasty and the building work was completed
by the Persian king Darius I (521 – 486 BC) and was
enlarged during the periods of Nectanebo I and Ptolemy
II.

Kharga
Oasis - Bir Quseeb
-After
having the breakfast we prepare in our camp, it will be
the time to go on with our fabulous tour of the Western
Desert -
We continue with our trip to reach Bir
Quseeb, one of the beautiful water wells located near
the Kharga Oasis. - At the end of the day, we set
up our camp in the desert to enjoy the magical
atmosphere of the region, watch the stars, have an
amazing barbeque party, and spend the night in our
comfortable camp. -
Dinner and overnight in the
camp.
Day 11 :
Bir
Quseeb - Abu Simbel.
After
having the breakfast we prepare in our camp, it will be
the time to go on with our fabulous tour of the Western
Desert -
We continue with our trip to reach Abu
Simble, the home of the most fascinating temple of Abu
Simble, built by Ramses II .
We check in the
hotel.

Day 12 :
Aswan
- After
having breakfast in the hotel, we go on with our tour
We take a boat to go from Abu Simble to Aswan
and we start our tour of the city right away
We
will start the visits with one of the most beautiful
temples constructed in Egypt, the Temple of Philae. This
fabulous temple dedicated to the goddess Isis was
constructed as one of the finest examples of the
combined architecture of ancient Egyptians and the
Greco-Romans styles.
This temple, due to the
construction of the High Dam was all covered with water
until it was relocated in its present day location in
the Agilika Island by the UNESCO project that took 8
years from 1972 to 1980 to be completed
Your
next visit of the day will be to the High Dam, built by
the former Egyptian president, Gamal Abdel Nasser in the
1960s to reserve the Nile Water that was lost every year
in the artificial Nasser Lake.
The High Dam, that was
viewed as an architectural miracle at the time, also
generates a lot of the electricity consumed in Egypt
-
The guest afterwards will go to visit the
famous unfinished obelisk, a gigantic granite obelisk
dating back to the Pharaohs New Kingdom. If this huge
obelisk was completed it would have weighed more than
1197 tons. This will be a marvelous chance to understand
how the ancient Egyptians were capable of building such
gigantic structures.
In the afternoon, we will
have a relaxing romantic Felucca ride down the Nile to
feel the magic of this great river in Aswan.
Enjoy the evening touring Aswan on your own style or you
can go to the marvelous sound and light show at the
Philae Temple, to enjoy a fascinating illustration of
the history of the Temple of Philae and the entire
Egyptian history and watch the amazing light show.

Day 13 :
Aswan -
Cairo
After the breakfast
in the hotel, we will start our visits with One of the
most famous attractions in Aswan which is the touristic
market or "Souq" famous for its many diverse goods
especially spices, cotton products, all sorts of
different herbs, small granite and alabaster statues,
papyrus, golden and silver items, and handmade carpets
Afterwards you go on the optional tour to the Abu Simble
Temple, which is a startling temple built to honor
Ramses II.
Abu Simble great temple and the smaller temple of
Hathour were hewn out of a stone cliff. This huge
breathtaking monument was built for the worship of the
gods Amun, Ptah, Ra-Hakharty.
The most fascinating feature of Abu Simble is the four
colossi of Ramses which are 33 meters high.
The whole complex was relocated by the UNESCO in 1970s
after the construction of the High Dam.
In the evening, the guest will be transferred to the
Aswan train station to take the sleeper train to Cairo
