| In the morning, you will be taken by our van to Baharia. Arrive to Bahariya oasis, lunch will be served in a local restaurant, and then you will take 4X4 Land Cruiser to the White Desert. Visit the Black Desert and the sand dune area, where we climb a 50 meter-dune. Lunch in El Heiz Oasis. On the route to Farafra, we visit the Crystal Mountain, the area of the wonders with the desert roses. Then visit El Akabat before heading to the White Desert, where we explore the formations and wind carved sculptors. In the evening, we have a barbeque dinner and sleep in tents under the stars. |
From Bahariya, we drive by jeep south towards Fayoum. We reach Wadi Al Hitan (otherwise known as the Valley of Whales), a surreal region where huge boulders seem to be capped with an imaginary icing of thick caramelized syrup, which appears to ooze down their sides. Within this extraordinary landscape the fossil remains of Zeuglodon – whales that existed in the Fayoum over 45 million years ago- have been found. We spend the night camping under a canopy of stars.
| On the way back, we stop at Lake Qaroun for a tour by felucca (half an hour) At Wadi Rayan, we visit the spring and waterfall, have lunch, and then continue back to Cairo. |
